Who We Are
GHASEA (Ghana Association of Greater Seattle) is a thriving hub dedicated to preserving heritage, fostering connections, and empowering individuals. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we serve Ghanaians and friends of Ghana in Washington State, ensuring that our culture flourishes while providing networking, support, and development opportunities.
We stand as a pillar of unity, inclusivity, and progress, offering a welcoming space free from ethnic and political divisions. Our mission is to strengthen our community through cultural pride, mentorship programs, social events, and career growth initiatives. Whether it’s our vibrant Independence Day celebrations, youth mentorship programs, or professional networking events, GHASEA enriches lives while fostering a strong Ghanaian identity.
Through philanthropy and social responsibility, we assist new immigrants in settling into their new environment, provide career resources, and contribute to charitable causes in both the U.S. and Ghana. Our organization connects individuals with opportunities for economic empowerment, leadership development, and cultural education.

Cultural preservation
- We celebrate Ghanaian heritage through vibrant festivals, dance, music, and storytelling, ensuring traditions thrive while fostering a sense of belonging and community pride.

Leadership and Youth Development
- We equip young Ghanaians with leadership opportunities, mentorship programs, and educational initiatives, shaping future leaders committed to cultural preservation and community development.

Entrepreneurship and workforce development
- The Entrepreneurship and Workforce Development Program is designed to empower community members by providing comprehensive training in both entrepreneurial skills and job readiness. This initiative focuses on equipping individuals with the tools necessary to start their own businesses or to become competitive candidates in the job market. Participants receive instruction in business planning, financial literacy, and marketing strategies, alongside job readiness training that includes resume building, interview preparation, and workplace communication skills. By fostering both entrepreneurial acumen and employment competencies, the program aims to stimulate economic growth and self-sufficiency within the community, enabling participants to contribute meaningfully to the local economy.

Scholarship Fund
- Our Scholarship Fund is a vital initiative to support the educational aspirations of students within our community. Rooted in our commitment to uplifting future leaders, the fund provides financial assistance to deserving students of Ghanaian heritage who demonstrate academic promise, leadership potential, and community involvement. By investing in education, we empower young people to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society. We warmly invite corporate entities, philanthropic organizations, and individuals to partner with us in sustaining and expanding this impactful program. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient future through education.
